Step 1 - Get in touch
Once you have your wedding date, please email me or use the contact page to check my availability.
I offer my clients a personal and bespoke service so I only take on a limited amount of weddings each month. I advise you book your date with 9-12 months notice but it's still worth checking availability if your wedding is sooner.
I will ask you some questions to get an idea of what you require, for example; the style of your wedding, how many servings and tiers, your budget, any design details you like. After this I can provide you with a quotation.
Step 2 - Secure your date
If you're happy with your quotation and would like to secure your date in my diary then a £100 non-refundable booking fee is required. After this, approximately 4 - 6 months before the wedding, I offer a face-to-face design consultation for fondant cakes at my home in Theydon Bois, Epping, where we can discuss the design of your cake and you also get to try some delicious cake flavours.
For buttercream or naked/semi-naked cakes the design consultation is again approximately 4-6 months before the wedding and done by email and I post you a beautiful postal box of cake samples to try. Postage for this is £9 per box, sent next day delivery by 1pm on a date arranged with you.
Cake samples and a consultation are included in your costs.
Step 3 - The design
I hold consultations for fondant cakes at my home in Theydon Bois, Epping, Essex or via zoom. These happen at set times during the year. Before the consultation I will provide you with a questionnaire so that I can learn more of the style, colours and design features you find attractive.
I can then put together some design ideas / mood board and we can discuss these together at the consultation where we will refine the design. I can offer suggestions of modern design techniques along with advice on flavours. We can also discuss designs for bespoke biscuit favours if you would like to.
After the consultation I will provide you with a sketch of your cake (fondant designs) to help you envision what your cake will look like. After all the details have been decided, I will send you a final invoice, which is due 8 weeks before your wedding.
Step 4 - On the day
On the morning of your wedding day I will deliver, set-up and style your cake. I will align completely with your florist and venue co-ordinator, leaving you able to simply relax and have a wonderful day.
